First ‘Qatar Tourism Awards’ Launched to Recognise Top Tourism Contributors

Doha: Qatar Tourism launched the ‘Qatar Tourism Awards 2023’ to recognise and reward those working in the tourism sector.

The award is the first of its kind in Qatar, launched in partnership with the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), to celebrate contributions to the excellence and uniqueness of the visitor experience in the country.

The award was launched in a press conference held today by Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive H E Akbar Al Baker, and Chief Operating Officer at Qatar Tourism, Berthold Trenkel.

The Qatar Tourism Awards recognise individuals and businesses that consistently exceed the country’s service delivery standards. In close collaboration with the World Tourism Organization, Qatar Tourism aims to establish the highest possible quality standards for the country’s growing tourism sector.

Qatar Tourism Awards will include three main categories – Service Excellence, Cultural Experience, and Smart Solutions. Each of these categories will further contain multiple subcategories totalling 50 awards.

Entries for individuals and organisations can be submitted online from May 12, 2023. Submissions will close on July 31, 2023, after which shortlisted entries will be handed over to the jury and winner will be announced in a ceremony in November 2023.
